Nayanam Pradhan”
‘Anugraha
Drishtidaan’ is a national level NGO, registered under the
Societies Registration Act and eligible for tax relief under
Section 80G of Income Tax Act to focus on blindness
eradication programme all over India . Anugraha Drishtidaan
has a comprehensive network at the grass root level and has
been working with the rural, tribal & backward communities in
various states in India for the last 6 years. Aims and
objectives of “Anugraha Drishtidaan” are given below:
-
Eyes are
the most important part of a body. Without eyes the entire
world is dark. The Society will be devoted for the cause of
eye-care, prevention of eye diseases and treatment.

To create
awareness for eye-care at all ages particularly at the
childhood and old age.
-
To
organize conferences, seminars, workshops to sensitize
public for eye-care and prevention of eye related diseases.
-
To
campaign for eye screening to detect eye ailment in the
school going children in particular and children in general.
-
To
organize eye screening camps particularly in rural, tribal,
slum and backward areas.
-
To
organize cataract operation camps for those suffering from
cataract and other eye diseases.
-

To detect and organize treatment of those
suffering from any type of cataract, glaucoma and any other
type of eye disease.
-
To open
eye-care centers in different part of country for prevention
and treatment of eye diseases.

To publish
literature, books, journal etc. about eye care and
treatment.
-
To raise
funds and contribution from various sources and accept
donations, grants, subscriptions, loans etc. for fulfillment
of aims and objectives of the Society.

To propagate and mobilize for ‘eye donations'
-
To provide
facilities required for eye preservation and corneal
transplant including Eye Bank.

To plan
and provide facilities of eye related ailment for rural
public in general and SC/ST and population living below
poverty line in particular.

To contact
and sensitize eye surgeons, eye hospitals including
charitable hospitals, nursing homes for giving attention to
poor persons suffering from eye diseases.

To contact
and mobilize Govt machinery including the State Govts. and
organizations for general health care for poor and neglected
persons in general and eye ailments in particular.
-
To
approach both Indian and foreign donor agencies, corporates
in public sector, private sector, multi-nationals,
individuals and others to raise funds for the fulfillment
of the objectives of the Society.

To help
and supplement the efforts of other social organizations
engaged in similar activities.
-
To
organize health camps in the rural, backward and slum areas
for the benefit of poor and neglected community.
-
To launch
campaign for health-care and general well-being of women,
children and aged persons in particular.
The main
objective of the society is to render social service towards
health care in general and eyes related ailments in particular
of the population living in rural, backward, tribal and slum
areas and living below the poverty line.

Anugraha Drishtidaan intensified its
activities since 2003.
It has organized,in less than five years, 166 eye
screening and cataract operation camps in the following states
-
Andhra Pradesh,Assam, Delhi,Gujarat,Jharhand,Maharashtra,Uttar
Pradesh,Uttrakhand ,Tamil Nadu and Nagaland.
