Future Plans

Health Programme for School Children: “Anugraha Bal Aarogya”

Children are future of any society. It is, therefore, responsibility of the family, society and the Govt. to provide adequate facilities and congenital Environment for their growth and development. Health is the most important aspect of physical and mental development of a child. Unfortunately health-care is very neglected area so far, India is concerned particularly in the rural, backward and slum areas. Availability of qualified Doctors in such areas and affordability are main constraints. In such a situation, school children suffer in the absence of medical care by the family, school, society and the Govt. with the result their studies are impaired. There is no systematic programme of their periodical medical check up, so their families or school authorities do not know about their physical and mental health.

“Anugraha Bal Aarogya” a project of ‘Anugraha Drishtidaan’ identifies the schools located in the rural and backward areas for medical check-up of students in the age group of 6 years to 16 years by a Child Specialist and other paramedical staff. The following individual tests are carried out:

Full body screening ;

• Medical history
• Physical examination
• Height & Weight measurement
• Blood Pressure
• Vision test
• Hearing test
• Blood Group
• Pelvic examination (in females only)

Investigations & Treatment in identified cases:

• Anemia test
• Urine test
• Tuberculosis test
• Cholesterol test
• Sexually Transmitted Diseases test

  • on the basis of Medical examination and Investigations, Preventive Health Care Measurers are suggested.

  • provide Health Card to each student containing report of check-up, advice on preventive measures, if any.

  • provide medical treatment on need basis

  • create awareness about health & hygiene concept including HIV/AIDS

  • provide knowledge of human body parts and function

  • create awareness about possible adolescent’s health problems & changes

  • school authorities are associated and involved in the entire exercise of Medical Examination and health care measures programmes.

Children suffering from minor diseases are given treatment. However, Children suffering from major diseases are referred for further investigation and treatment. under intimation to School Authorities. A proper report of survey and examination is submitted to School and Dist. School Authorities. We also coordinate with the District Health Authorities wherever the vaccinations have not been given to children.

Programme Outputs:

  • Sensitize the School Administration, Teachers & Parents about “Good Health”. of children

  • Creating awareness to develop understanding about the need & importance of “Good Health”

  • Formation of “School Health Group” responsible for the prevention of communicable and seasonal diseases. It will be helpful to prevent these diseases at initial stage.

  • Beneficiaries are able to concentrate more on their studies.

  • The programme helps to create disease free environment in schools.
